Nepal Online Trade is a business initiative of Sajak Yonjan that sells décor materials imported from China, Hong Kong, and America to Nepal. Explaining the inspiration behind starting the business he said, “I was involved in small business even before Nepal Online Trade. However, at one point, I realized the need to introduce a commercial product that would thrive in the market. So, I first started by introducing products like wall stickers, which were not easily available in the market.”
“Initially, I was totally blank about promoting my products. Then I opted for online platforms to introduce our goods into the market,” Yonjan shared. Yonjan started his business by importing 15 wall stickers which were very popular in the city. Then, he registered his company and added additional products to his repertoire, including wallpapers, hammocks, 3D clocks, 3D lights. The company’s newest addition includes wall canvases that are gaining steady popularity among his clientele.
“I always try to introduce new décor concepts that have never been introduced in Nepal before. Wall stickers and decals were new concepts here. Though they look like paintings, they are considerably cheaper,” Yonjan said.
The Bouddha based company has just entered into its second year of establishment. However, it is receiving positive responses from its customers. Currently, there are three staffs working for Nepal Online Trade. Clients can place their order through various social media platforms. Yonjan ensures that his customers are provided with correct information about the prices, products, and product delivery. Nepal Online Trade is not just limited to Kathmandu; it delivers its products across the country through courier via air or road transportation.
The company has garnered huge popularity in a short period of time. Due to the overwhelming customer inquiry on social media, the company has also hired an additional staff dedicated to handling social media. And now, the company is also looking forward to launching a website.
When asked about the future plans, Yonjan replied, “At present, we don’t have an outlet. So, we are planning to expand our business by launching a few outlets across the country. Similarly, our payment system is not systematic. But, we are looking to practice either Cash on Delivery (COD) or online payment.”
