Nepal's new envoy presents credentials to Canadian Governor General

KATHMANDU, May 2: Newly-appointed Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, Bharat Raj Paudyal, presented his letter of credential to Governor General Mary Jeannie (J) May Simon. He presented the certificate of recognition at a special ceremony held in Ottawa on Wednesday.

During a courtesy meeting with the Governor General Simon after presenting his credentials, Ambassador Paudyal conveyed best wishes on behalf of President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for her personal well-being and the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the friendly people of Canada, as stated by the Nepali Embassy in Ottawa.

Ambassador Paudyal highlighted the friendly relations between Nepal and Canada and discussed the Nepalese government's efforts and priorities in strengthening democracy and achieving rapid economic development. He also mentioned Nepal's endeavors towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and graduating from the list of least developed countries.

Expressing gratitude for Canada's continuous support in Nepal's socio-economic development, Ambassador Paudyal expressed his commitment to work closely with the Canadian government and the private sector to enhance bilateral trade, tourism, investment, and technology transfer. He emphasized expanding people-to-people relations and strengthening economic partnerships beneficial to both countries.

Governor General Simon conveyed her best wishes to the leadership of Nepal and expressed satisfaction with the healthy relations between Canada and Nepal. She assured full support from the Canadian government to further strengthen mutual relations.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials of the Canadian government as well as embassy staff.
