CAAN bans paragliding from Sarangkot after Pokhara Int’l Airport comes into operation

POKHARA, Dec 28: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to ban paragliding from Sarangkot starting from January 1 after the Pokhara Regional International Airport comes into operation. Paragliding, which is one of the major attractions of Pokhara, will be allowed only from Mandredhunga, which lies about 5 km west of Sarangkot.

POKHARA, Dec 23: Pokhara Regional International Airport will officially come into operation on January 1, the first day of the English New Year 2023. As preparation for the operation of the airport, private sector airline companies Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines landed their ATR-72 aircraft at Pokhara Regional International Airport for the first time on Thursday. The aircraft also conducted test flights. The residents expressed their happiness saying that this has fulfilled a four-decade-long dream of operating an international-level airport in Pokhara . The airline companies say that they are preparing for commercial flights after the demo flights on Thursday.
