KATHMANDU, April 30: A book containing speeches made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in international forums has been published in the Nepali language. 

Kathmandu-based Indigo Ink released the book 'Bishwo Manch ma Narendra Modi’ i.e. ‘Narendra Modi on the World Stage' in the capital city amid a function on Tuesday. 

The book compiles the speeches/addresses made by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2024 in various countries and international forums.

This book, compiled by Bhupendra Bahadur Chhetri, was translated into Nepali language by Sagar Chand.

Chand said that since India is advancing in a new way on the world stage and it is being led by Modi, his 29 speeches over the past decade have been translated into Nepali with the aim of informing about India's presence on the world stage. “India is advancing in a new way on the world stage. The book helps to understand the world view of Narendra Modi, who is leading India in the environment where India is promoting itself strongly in the international forums,” said Chand.

Chand emphasized the transformative trajectory of India's global presence under Modi's leadership, highlighting the significance of 29 speeches translated into Nepali. “These translations aim to illuminate India's evolving role on the international stage, offering insights into Modi's worldview as he navigates India's assertive engagement in global forums,” he said.

In the early 1990s, India embarked on a journey of globalization, and today, its presence resonates across various global arenas. According to a January 2024 report by the World Economic Forum, India contributed a remarkable 16 percent to global development in 2023. With an impressive economic growth rate of 7.2% during the 2022-2023 period, India consistently held the second position among G20 nations.

India's infrastructure, internet accessibility, and evolving relations with the Western world have significantly elevated its global stature in 2023. The nation's enhanced access to information, improved connectivity, and burgeoning prosperity have collectively fortified its position on the world stage.

Stating that the relationship between Nepal and India has been linked since prehistoric times, Chhetri said, 'Narendra Modi's speech has been translated into Nepali with the aim of making even the common Nepalese know how India is presenting itself on various platforms of the world by adopting the neighbor first policy.'

The price of the book brought to the market by Indigo Ink is Rs 549.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has made four visits to Nepal, including his attendance at the SAARC meeting. His first visit was in August 2014, followed by the SAARC meeting of 2014. He visited again in May 2018 and most recently in May 2022. During these visits, Modi traveled extensively across Nepal, from Janakpur and Lumbini to Muktinath. "Of all these journeys and speeches, the important speeches have been collected and translated into Nepali language," said Chhetri.
