KATHMANDU, March 17: The general convention of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has been scheduled for April 7.
A meeting of the available central committee members of the umbrella organization of journalists working across the country held in Kathmandu on Wednesday took the decision on the date of the general convention that will elect FNJ’s new office-bearers including the president. As per the revised statute, the general conventions of all district- and province-level committees and federal committees are held on the same date.
All general members of the FNJ will be eligible for casting their votes to elect a new leadership of the FNJ unlike during the previous general conventions. Only Central Councilors elected by the general members were allowed to cast their votes to elect the new FNJ leadership in the past.
The FNJ meeting has decided to publicize the election calendar of events on March 20.
