Govt presents ICT awards in seven categories on occasion of 7th National Information and Communication Technology Day

KATHMANDU, May 5: The government has recognized outstanding contributions in the field of information technology by honoring individuals and organizations. On the occasion of the 7th National Information and Communication Technology Day, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology conferred National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) awards across seven categories.

Shailendra Giri, the president of Rapti Engineering College, received the National IT Excellence Award 2024. The National IT Excellence Award 2024 (Woman) was bestowed upon Ncell's Chief Technology Officer Lena Keshari Kansakar. Additionally, the National IT Innovation Award was presented to One Point Company for developing an API management integrated system, for simplifying operations in the banking and financial sector.

The Social Security Fund was honored with the National ICT Award from the Public Sector, while Data Hub received the National ICT Award from the Private Sector. Data Hub, established in 2011, operates data centers and provides services to businesses, including disaster recovery facilities in Butwal.

Sprout Technologies Services (Cloud Factory) was recognized for contributing significantly to Nepal’s foreign currency earnings by exporting ICT services. Dynamic Technosoft received the Provincial Award, and Nepal Telecom and Monal Tech were respectively awarded the National ICT Startup Award and the title of the ICT company paying the highest amount of tax.
