GULARIYA May 23: A woman died in a tiger attack in Bardiya district on Thursday. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Manisha Rokaya of Hasanapur, Baijanath rural municipality-8, of the neighboring district, Banke.
According to Tulsiram Aryal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at Bardiya District Police Office, Rokaya died in the tiger attack near Janachetana community forest of Bansgadhi municipality-4.
However, her sister Kailash Pati Tharu, 40, escaped the attack. They were traveling together to Bansgadhi municipality-4 when the tiger attacked.
Chief of the Division Forest Office, Bardiya, Prabin Bidari, said that investigation into the incident was underway.
